LESSON PLANS

Expressing Gratitude

This lesson focuses on the pragmatics of expressing gratitude. Students learn to express their gratitude beyond just saying "Thank you!"
Video of me teaching this lesson is in the "Video" section of the "Materials" dropdown menu.

Teaching the /ow/ sound

This pronunciation lesson follows the Perception-Practice-Production format and is similar to many pronunciation classes I teach. It incorporates the Pronunciation Pairs textbook.

Opinion Articles and Letters to the Editor
(Full 6-lesson unit)

This is a reading and writing unit that focuses on understanding opinions in reading and conveying opinions in writing.
This unit was co-created with Juan Jose Reyes Valladares (the reading lessons were created by me).

Teaching the /n/ sound - individual tutoring

This is an individualized lesson plan based on a particular student's pronunciation needs, which I analyzed. It contains several different exercises that focus on the /n/ sound in the environments that my student had difficulty with. I include a reflection at the beginning which details the diagnosis of my student and the reasons for including certain exercises.
